Simon Cowell reportedly revealed last night that he has not signed Cheryl Cole up for the US 'X Factor'.
The music mogul will reveal details of his new show next month and has promised it will be 'bigger and better' than any other show he's done but he has not yet given Cole a contract as had been speculated.
This news comes amid speculation that US TV chiefs cast doubt on how 'famous' Cheryl is and whether American audiences will 'get' her.
According to Metro, Cowell said: "I'm going to make an announcement in two weeks' time.
"You know we don't give anything away. We have to make sure that all the shows are going to be back bigger, better, stronger, different. No-one has been contracted yet apart from me."
There has been speculation over who the judges will be with Katy Perry, Rihanna, Mariah Carey and Robbie Williams being just a few of the names that have been mentioned.
However Cowell gave no clues away: 'You've seen what we've done on 'Britain's Got Talent', we've made some changes and I think it's the right thing for the show and I've got to do the same thing in America.
'The most important thing I've learnt with these shows is don’t be predictable.'
As well as Cowell and Cole rumoured not to be partaking in this year's UK 'X Factor', the new series could also see judges Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue leaving the show.
Cowell said: 'Well they haven't been given a contract yet. And I think that there's going to be a few surprises, I genuinely do.
"I don't think that there's one set way of doing it and I want to explore a lot of different opportunities.'
