'Coronation Street's Maria may be set for some dark times when a new character turns nasty.

According to The Sun, Maria, played by Samia Smith, will be threatened by businessman Frank Foster after Carla asks her to charm him into placing an order with Underworld.
A source said that Frank will show a nasty side to his character when alone with Maria at her house, saying to her: "If you want this deal you'll have to be nice to me."
The source said: "Time will tell how bad Frank's character will be - but he's a ladies' man and no Weatherfield woman will be safe from his interest."
