'Strictly Come Dancing' star Kara Tointon has said that she will be more careful about what she says in interviews after a comment she made was taken out of context.

According to Metro, the former 'EastEnders' star said that she was upset when she read reports last year suggesting that she was depressed after leaving the soap.

She said: "I said life after a soap can be hard because you can get typecast whereas before no-one knew who you were."

"That was actually a good year for me, I did modelling for the first time and tried new things but I didn't do much acting."

"I joked about it in the interview and they put it in the headline saying I was depressed."

"It was clearly a joke but it caused problems for me - people who had been depressed and suicidal were quite upset by it."

"It means I have to be careful about what I say now - I can't have that happen again."
