Elbow singer Guy Garvey has said he is "in terrible trouble" after accidentally revealing the title of the band's upcoming album.

The Press Association reports that Garvey said the title of the album was 'Build a Rocket, Boys!' during an appearance on Marc Riley's show on BBC 6 Music.

Garvey told 6 Music: "I'm in terrible trouble [with the band's label]. I got drunk and announced on air the title of the album, under the influence of old mild Guinness.

"You can't really keep secrets from Elbow fans for very long, anyway. They're an industrious bunch. They find things out."

Of the content of the album, Garvey said: "Because I've moved back to an old neighbourhood, where I spent my early to late teens, I've been remembering that period of my life in great detail. I live on a street I used to play on when I was 14. That's what the album is about - the years I spent here growing up. The difficulties of it and the great things about it, too."

'Build a Rocket, Boys!' is released on 6 March.
