'Dancing on Ice' presenter Phillip Schofield has said that the show requires contestants to be brave because "there is a real danger to it".

According to Digital Spy, he said: "It is a tough one to cast because you have to have real bravery to do it."

"I am a huge fan of 'Strictly', but unlike 'Strictly' there is a real danger to it."

"You can break bits of yourself, you can smash your face in and for someone whose job is on-screen, that can be a real jeopardy and a real risk."

"None of us like to see blood on the ice. It’s hilarious to see someone fall over but they all know those blades are razor sharp - it is dangerous."
