'Coronation Street' star Katherine Kelly has ruled out playing her character Becky McDonald in the planned musical version of the ITV soap.
Kelly, who recently sang on the 'Coronation Street' tribute album, told Holy Soap: "I won't be doing the musical. If I'm going to be playing Becky I want to play it in the main show.
"If the musical does go ahead, I've been asked to help cast Becky and that would be appealing to me."
When asked who she would like to see play Becky, Kelly replied: "We would probably try and find an unknown, I think. That would be the exciting thing.
"I'm looking forward to seeing someone else playing her. [I] saw someone else in ['Coronation Street' writer] Jonathan Harvey's [50th anniversary] stage show and it was brilliant. I loved it and totally buzzed off someone else being Becky in the pink dress. My ego isn't that much that if ever there's a Becky I have to play her!"
