The 'Strictly Come Dancing' costume department has reinforced the female contestants' outfits to ensure there are no "wardrobe malfunctions" during this weekend's final.

Kara Tointon and professional dance partner Artem Chigvintsev, Matt Baker and professional partner Aliona Vilani and Pamela Stephenson and professional partner James Jordan will contest the final on Saturday night on BBC One.

The Press Association reports that a source said: "The costume department has had to reinforce the girls' outfits to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions as the routines are so ambitious and acrobatic."

It is reported that former 'EastEnders' star Tointon, a one-time gymnast, is rehearsing a back flip for the show.

She said: "We are pushing ourselves to the absolute limit in our show dance and it's like climbing Everest.

"It is certainly frantic and manic and crazy, and I will be absolutely shattered at the end of it."
