'EastEnders' star Charlie Brooks has said that she would like fans of the show to have sympathy for her character Janine.
Janine recently decided to poison husband Ryan after discovering that he was having an affair with Stacey.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Brooks said: "I'll always defend my character to the end and have sympathy for her anyway, but I think we're seeing a very vulnerable, heartbroken and desperate side to Janine."
"Unfortunately for Ryan and Stacey, that means danger! But for the audience, I think that they will be having some sympathy for the character - because, at the end of the day, they were having a dirty little affair!"
