It has been revealed that Cate Blanchett will be joining the cast of the ‘The Hobbit’.
Blanchett played Galadriel the Lady of Lothlorien in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the Oscar-winning Australian actress agreed to reprise the role for the two upcoming Peter Jackson films.
"Cate is one of my favourite actors to work with, and I couldn't be more thrilled to have her reprise the role she so beautifully brought to life in the earlier films," Jackson said.
The first ‘Hobbit' movie is scheduled for release in 2012.
