'Strictly Come Dancing' star Ann Widdecombe has vowed to continue dancing to an audience of cattle when she is alone on the moors.

The former MP left the BBC dance show on Sunday night after ten weeks competing. Her performance to 'Hello Dolly' was criticised by the judges with Bruno Tonioli calling her "a Dalek in drag".

Speaking in this week’s Radio Times Widdecombe said she felt "a little sadness" at having to leave the hit BBC1 show. The 63-year-old said that there would be no further performances, apart from on the Strictly Come Dancing tour next year.

She said when she is walking on "Dartmoor in my hiking boots, I will look down at my unpromising footwear and then all around me to make sure no-one is watching.

"Then, before the startled eyes of roaming cattle, I shall dance around the damp, uneven ground, imagining myself in a glittering gown, waltzing in the arms of Anton Du Beke."

She criticised talk of celebrities being on a 'journey' on the show saying "As Anton Du Beke remarked on one occasion, with characteristic dry wit, if we'd heard of one more journey we would have had an entire Odyssey."
