Soap fans are set for a unique experience on BBC One tonight as part of Children in Need.

The BBC's 'EastEnders' and ITV's 'Coronation Street' have joined forces for 'East Street', a special mini episode as part of the seven-hour charity extravaganza.

Viewers will see 'Coronation Street' stars such as Beverley Callard (Liz McDonald) and Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) in Albert Square. 'EastEnders' star Shane Richie, who plays Alfie Moon, described the experience as "very surreal".

'Coronation Street' star Callard said: "I've visited the 'EastEnders' set many years ago but this is the first time I've worked on it and it was great. We've had a great time and the script is so funny."
