Mel Gibson is currently in a custody battle with his former lover Oksana Grigorieva in Los Angeles over their infant daughter.
According to the Daily Mail the Oscar winner, 54, and his Russian ex, 40, have been sparring for months over custody and financial issues after reaching a private agreement.
Amongst the eclectic series of witnesses giving evidence were Oksana's facialist and a musician who claims he witnessed a row between the two in January.
During the row Oksana claims Gibson assaulted her as she held one-year-old Lucia.
The case is taking place in a closed hearing with Los Angeles Judge Scott Gordon and is closed to the public.
Authorities are reported to be continuing a separate investigation into the actor-director's claims that Oksana attempted to blackmail him earlier this year.
