Former 'Doctor Who' star David Tennant has been cast in 'United', a new BBC film about Manchester United and the 1958 Munich Air Disaster.
Tennant will star as assistant manager Jimmy Murphy, with Jack O'Connell ('Skins') portraying Bobby Charlton and actor Sam Claflin ('Any Human Heart') cast as teammate Duncan Edwards.
The role of manager Matt Busby has yet to be cast.
The film's executive producer, Simon Heath, said: "Chris Chibnall ('Law & Order: UK', 'Camelot') has written an authentic and moving version of this heartbreaking story, which with the help of a great cast, we hope will be a fitting tribute to those who survived and those who lost their lives at Munich."
'United' begins shooting in the UK later this month.
