Actress turned singer Gwyneth Paltrow will perform a song from her new film 'Country Strong' at tonight's Country Music Awards.
In an interview with Extra she said: "I feel good about it, I feel nervous but I feel excited."
The actress had to gain 20 pounds for the role of Kelly Canter and she said that making the film was an "amazing experience."
She added: "I really loved the process of learning how to sing and learning how to play guitar.
"It was a very unexpected and fun thing to do."
The 'Iron Man' star said she prepared for the role by drawing on fellow singers experiences.
She said: "I'm lucky because I know a few singers in my life I sort of drew on...And tried to understand how they got the confidence to do it and perform in front of so many people."
Paltrow has previously sung on the big screen in the 2000 film 'Duets'.
'Country Strong' will be released next March.
