Lily Allen is "responding well" after being admitted to hospital over the weekend to be treated for septicaemia.

The singer developed blood poisoning after suffering a miscarriage last week, nearly six months into her pregnancy.

According to People, Allen's representative Murray Chalmers said that she is now showing "encouraging signs" and that "her condition continues to improve".

The spokesperson also thanked Allen's fans for their messages of support.
