A spokesperson for singer Lily Allen has confirmed that the star has tragically lost her unborn baby.
The spokesperson said "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made".
The singer, who was six months pregnant, announced she was expecting the baby with her builder boyfriend Sam Cooper in August. The couple have been dating since July 2009.
The Sun reports that the singer went in to hospital on Thursday morning.
Allen suffered a previous miscarriage in January 2008.
