With her time on ITV soap 'Emmerdale' at an end, actress Amanda Donohoe has been speaking about her plans for the future.
Donohoe, who plays husband killer Natasha Wylde, was asked by Holy Soap if she had a dream role in mind for the future.
She replied: "I've always said there should be more drama being made. It's expensive and risky but if the right drama is made it pulls in audiences.
"[ITV drama] 'Downton Abbey' is fantastic. All audiences crave good drama, and especially the lovely array of characters of all ages and backgrounds. Soap opera provides that and does a fantastic job, but there's clearly an insatiable demand for good dramas. And not cops! Enough with the policemen!"
When asked if she would like a role in the second series of 'Downton Abbey', Donohue said: "They would be stupid not to recommission it. That's a no-brainer. I'd kill to be in great costume drama, or a series, that pulls in those audiences."
Describing 'Emmerdale' as "a really fantastic experience", Donohue said she would "never say never" about a return to the show, and that she would consider roles in other soaps, depending on the character.
