Johnny Depp is hoping to reteam with Rob Marshall to play the lead role in an adaptation of 'The Thin Man'.
According to Vulture the 'Alice in Wonderland' star would like to work again with the 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' director on a remake of the detective story.
'The Thin Man' tells the story of Nick Charles, a detective who gives up his job when he marries a wealthy socialite and becomes an alcoholic. He dons his investigative hat one last time to work on a murder, and bringing his wife along with him.
However, Marshall is already in talks to work a musical film 'Wicked', a prequel to 'The Wizard of Oz' focusing on the lives of the Wicked Witches. Needless to say, it'll be a while before 'The Thin Man' gets off the ground.
Depp, 47, is currently filming 'Pirates' but has no other projects coming up having wrapped on 'The Tourist' with Angelina Jolie earlier this year.
