Gordon Ramsay and his father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, one of the masterminds of his business empire, have reportedly parted company after a huge row.

According to The Daily Mail Hutcheson has quit his position as chief executive of Gordon Ramsay Holdings.

The chef’s wife Tana, 37, is said to be "distraught" at the split between her father and her 43-year-old husband however a source close to the family said that the two men had always had a "very fiery relationship".

The men met in 1993, when Ramsay was only 27 and the chef later described it as his first ‘real break’, Mr Hutcheson went on to become his mentor and business adviser.

The 62-year-old is also widely believed to have guided his daughter’s decision to stay with her husband after mistress Sarah Symonds accused Ramsay of a seven-year affair in 2008.

A statement released by Ramsay's company said: "We can confirm that Chris Hutcheson has left his position as CEO of Gordon Ramsay Holdings Ltd."
