'Strictly Come Dancing' professional dancer Brendan Cole performed on the show on Saturday night just hours after learning that his father, Eddie, had passed away.
The New Zealander performed with singer Michelle Williams after finding out his father had died earlier that day following a long cancer battle.
The Daily Mail reports that Cole has now flown home to Christchurch accompanied by new wife, model Zoe Hobbs. Next week Williams, who was a member of Destiny’s Child, will be partnered by dancer Ian Waite when she performs a tango.
A friend of Cole’s is quoted in the report as saying "Brendan is incredibly disciplined and always professional, so he went out on the dancefloor on Saturday night. He didn’t tell any of the contestants, I think he was just in a state of shock. His father had been ill for quite a while, but Brendan is of course, devastated."
Last week contestant Ann Widdecombe’s brother Malcolm passed away but the former MP continued with the show performing on Saturday night with dance partner Anton du Beke.
Magician Paul Daniels was the latest celebrity to be voted out last night after performing a rumba with dance partner Ola Jordan.
