It is reported that 'X Factor' judge Cheryl Cole is concerned that the controversy over the elimination of contestant Gamu Nhengu could affect the entire series.
The Mirror claims that Cole wants the issue to be "put to bed" on Saturday's live show.
The paper claims she told a production worker on the show: "We need to sort this out or it'll overshadow the whole series."
Eighteen-year-old Nhengu, who was eliminated from the show at the weekend, has been told she must return to her homeland of Zimbabwe after her mother's visa application was turned down.
Her elimination has led to allegations that her departure from the show was due to her visa issue.
A lawyer representing the family says they will appeal to an immigration tribunal about the UK Border Agency's decision.
