'Bugs Bunny at the Symphony' comes to the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin this weekend in a European exclusive for the show.
A feast of vintage cartoons can be seen on the big screen with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra playing the original scores live underneath.
The show’s creator, Emmy-winning conductor George Daugherty, reckons ?that 90% of the English-speaking world got their first exposure to classical music from Looney Tunes and the other 10% are liars!
The original smash hit 'Bugs Bunny on Broadway', now 20 years old, has been seen by almost two million people in venues including Sydney Opera House, the Hollywood Bowl and the Kremlin - as George says, "Not bad for a show with a rabbit, a duck and a guy who looks like Dick Cheney but with better politics" - Elmer Fudd!
The new concert features old favourites like the brilliant 'What’s Opera, Doc?' and 'The Rabbit of Seville'. Making their debut this time are Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and the Flintstones.
The show is on this Friday and Saturday night with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets can be bought from www.ticketmaster.ie
