'Grey's Anatomy' star Ellen Pompeo has been speaking about whether her character Meredith and partner Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will start a family in the new series of the show.

Fans saw Meredith miscarry in the season finale of series six.
Asked by E! Online if the character would become pregnant in the new series, Pompeo replied: "There probably won't be a baby this season, for sure.
"It's hard to shoot [film] babies and deal with babies on shows, so I don't know that we'll ever actually see a baby, but I think Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Meredith are going to continue to go through their struggles about being a couple and working together and all of that."
