Aspiring pop star Cher Lloyd has said that she deserves her place in the live 'X Factor' shows which are due to start this weekend.

17-year-old Lloyd is being mentored by singer Cheryl Cole who has attracted much criticism for her selection of her final three over the weekend. She picked Lloyd, Katie Waissel and Rebecca Ferguson which has upset fans of Gamu Nhengu and Treyc Cohen.

Speaking to X Magazine Lloyd said "I know I didn't do too well at Cheryl's house, but I do deserve to be in the show. I know what I'm capable of, I just need to work at it.

"I'm not a one-trick pony - I'm not just the white girl that raps. I'm no Whitney, I'm no Beyoncé, but there's lots I can do.

"I'm doing okay. I've got my voice back, I've got my falsetto back. Now I'm just practising. It's getting quite intense, but I'm more excited than nervous at this point."

She added: "I'm over the moon we've got Cheryl. I honestly don't think there could have been anyone more perfect."
