'X Factor' hopeful Cher Lloyd has reportedly broken down after performing for Cheryl Cole because she was worried about her effort.
The 17-year-old contestant struggled to sing an R. Kelly song after losing her voice.
She told official show magazine X before singing: "I'm just disappointed that I won't be able to do my best."
When she had finished, Lloyd apologised to Cole and was hugged by the judge.
She added afterwards: "Cheryl held me so tightly. I wiped the tears from her eyes and she wiped the tears from mine. I've never felt like that before."
Lloyd is fighting for a place in the final 12.
