It is reported that actress Barbara Windsor has said she will "never" return to 'EastEnders'.
The Sun reports that the actress originally said she would like to return in 2012 as Peggy Mitchell but has now changed her mind. Fans saw Windsor's final scenes earlier this month.
In an interview for ITV1s 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories', Windsor said: "It was a bit selfish of me but I didn't want to be killed off. I am never going to go back but I like to think that she's still out there somewhere."
Windsor said her real-life husband Scott Mitchell made her realise it was time to leave the soap.
"Scott said I wasn't switching off. I was Peggy 24 hours a day. It was taking over my life," she said.
The star also told Morgan that it was difficult to make the break from the BBC show.
"It was so hard, we were all great friends. I love that show, and I miss the camaraderie," she said.
