Following much media speculation, a representative for Penélope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem has confirmed the couple are expecting their first child.
People magazine reports that the representative said: "Penélope is four-and-a-half-months pregnant."
Photos of Cruz on location for her new film 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' fuelled speculation about a pregnancy, with People saying she was photographed in Puerto Rico "sporting a flowing top and a possible bump".
The photos followed other recent pictures of Cruz in a trench coat in Los Angeles.
Forty-one-year-old Bardem and 36-year-old Cruz married in July.
