It has been reported that Susan Boyle walked off the set of 'America’s Got Talent' after learning that she was not permitted at the last minute to sing the song which had been chosen for her.

TMZ claims that the Scottish singer became upset after singer and songwriter Lou Reed refused permission for her to perform a cover of his song 'Perfect Day' on the talent show.

The website claims that sources said the singer "dissolved into tears" when she was informed that permission had not been granted by the former Velvet Underground singer.

She is reported to have shortly afterwards left the set of the NBC show and headed for LAX where she is believed to have caught a plane back to the UK.

Boyle became a You Tube sensation after her dramatic audition for 'Britain’s Got Talent' brought her to the public’s attention. She later went on to become the runner-up on the talent show.
