It was finally confirmed yesterday that Piers Morgan will be Larry King’s replacement on one of America’s biggest talk shows. The 'Britain’s Got Talent' judge and journalist is set to take over the 'Larry King Live' slot on CNN from January.
The Press Association reports that the show, which has not yet been given a name, will be broadcast in over 200 countries.
The Briton said he was "thrilled" to be taking over and added he was "very much looking forward to bringing my own style of interviewing to the world's biggest, and best, TV news organisation."
He added "To now have the chance to work with Larry and Anderson (Cooper), and to try and continue the outstanding journalistic legacy created by them, and so many others at CNN, is both a great honour, and a great challenge."
The 45-year-old will be based in New York, Los Angeles and London but he is also expected to continue working for British channels.
Since his sacking as editor-in-chief of the Daily Mirror Morgan has forged himself a very successful career in television in Britain and the US.
