Former '24' and 'Battlestar Galactica' star Katee Sackhoff has joined the cast of 'CSI', three years after she was the producers' first choice to replace Jorja Fox (Sarah Sidle).
Entertainment Weekly exclusively reports that Sackhoff will play Detective Reed, "a smart, tough, and feisty investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity".
Sackhoff's first episode will air on American television in November.
Three years ago Sackhoff was linked to the role of another 'CSI' character, Riley Adams. The part eventually went to actress Lauren Lee Smith, who has since left the show.
