'EastEnders' star John Partridge has said that he hopes that Christian and Syed's relationship works out.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the actor, who plays Christian in the show, said: "I think it's just important to have a gay couple on the Square that are strong and are united."
"That's not to say that drama can't come, but that drama doesn't have to be something that pulls them apart."
"I do like this idea of Christian and Syed being united - us against the world. It's a nice image."
"I think it's important to have two gay characters that have jumped through fire to be with each other."
"It's important to have them stay with each other. Also, the audience have invested something in that, and I think they'd feel cheated if we were all of a sudden just pulled apart for the sake of a story."
