'Grey's Anatomy' creator Shonda Rhimes has been speaking about what lies ahead for Doctor Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) in the new series.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about how Alex would deal with being shot in the Seattle Grace massacre, Rhimes said: "There's a lot of bravado. He tells stories about how he almost got the shooter and how he's carrying this bullet around in his chest.
"He's covering all of that vulnerability he showed when he got shot with that [usual] Alex behaviour."
She also revealed that Alex would be cold towards love interest Lexi Grey (Chyler Leigh).
The new series of 'Grey's Anatomy' begins on American television next month.
