Former 'EastEnders' star Preeya Kalidas has been dropped by her record label Mercury.
The Sun says the 29-year-old's debut single, 'Shimmy', only reached 85 in the British charts.
Kalidas, who played Amira Masood in 'EastEnders', had recorded an album, 'Constant Cravings', for Mercury.
A source told the paper: "'Shimmy' got very little radio or TV airplay, which is vital for a first single. Bosses thought the album wouldn't do much better."
A spokesman for the singer said: "There was a difference of opinion with Mercury about the direction she should go in.
"If Mercury is not the right label, there are others who are interested."
