Actress Lainie Kazan is joining 'Desperate Housewives' for a multi-episode storyline.

Kazan will play Maxine in the seventh series.
Entertainment Weekly reports that she is a businesswoman and Susan's (Teri Hatcher) new neighbour.
'Ugly Betty' star Vanessa Williams and 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star Brian Austin Green have also joined the cast for the new season.
