Halle Berry has given an interview in which she talks about her break-up with partner Gabriel Aubrey, the father of her child, earlier this year.
In an interview in the September issue of Vogue, the 44-year-old says: "By the time [the break-up] hit the papers - full of rumours and lies, with people having to make up problems between us - Gabriel and I had long dealt with it. We were done. And we were on a good foot."
Berry says the two are good friends and will raise their daughter Nahla together.
"You realise you are not meant to go the distance with everybody," says Berry. "We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that's why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us."
The Hollywood Reporter says that Berry's Vogue interview is her first formal interview in three years, in which she also talks about the biggest misconception about her.
"That I am this brooding, twisted, lovesick person who just can't get it right in life," she says. "Every story about me is so heavy and dramatic. That's not how I do life."
