'Home and Away' producers have reportedly recast the character of Ruth 'Roo' Stewart.
Digitalspy reports that 'All Saints' actress Georgie Parker will play the daughter of Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), who was first seen in Summer Bay in 1988, portrayed by Justine Clarke until the character was written out a year later.
Parker said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to be back at Channel Seven and to be part of 'Home and Away'. Working with Ray is a joy. We are having a fantastic time together. The whole cast and crew have been wonderful."
Cameron Welsh, the serial's series producer, explained the decision: "We had such a positive reaction to Emily Symons's return as Marilyn; we trust the fans will love having an original character such as Roo back in the Bay. Securing Georgie Parker to bring her back to our screens is a real coup for the show."
Home and Away will be returning to RTÉ Two on September 6.
