Jedward have said that they are very excited about the suggestion that Dublin Airport should be named after them.

Airline Ryanair today issued a statement saying that the twins had topped a poll looking for new names for the airport, after the government said last year that a name change was a possibility.

Ryanair’s head of communications Stephen McNamara said: “Ryanair passengers have spoken and after over 10,000 votes were cast, Dublin Airport should now be renamed Dublin Jedward Airport – because its prices rise faster than their hair.”

Reacting to the press release, the twins posted a message on Twitter, saying: “If the airport is being named after us. We are going to be on tickets. Is everyone excited? We are."

"John Lennon is an airport in Liverpool JFK is in New York and now Jedward Airport in Dublin (sic)."
