Carey Mulligan has reportedly failed to secure the lead part in ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’.
According to The Mail on Sunday, the ‘An Education’ actress did not impress director David Fincher because she was too "clean-cut".
A source said: "She just didn’t fit the part. David is casting again - only this time the actresses will have full hair, make-up, wardrobe and piercings, which wasn’t done in the earlier tests.
"David thought Carey was too clean-cut and is looking for someone a little more gritty."
It was previously reported that Mulligan had landed the role of Lisbeth Salander in the Stieg Larsson penned trilogy.
