Pop singer Cheryl Cole was reportedly keen for her Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh to replace her during her absence from 'The X Factor'.
Cole was recently forced to take time out from the show after being diagnosed with malaria, with Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger being drafted in take her place for Boot Camp.
According to Heat magazine, a source said of Cole: "She wanted to help her close friend get more airtime and thought she'd be a perfect stand-in."
"She also knew Kimberley would keep her seat warm until she was better. Now, she's terrified Nicole will replace her permanently."
