'Coronation Street' actor Graeme Hawley was attacked in a bar by a man who was angry about his character's affair with a schoolgirl in the soap.
The Daily Mirror says 36-year-old Hawley, who plays teacher John Stape, was confronted in a bar by a man who was angry about Stape's relationship with Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan).
The man put Hawley in a headlock before other customers intervened and he ran away.
Hawley said: "It's a constant issue, people giving their opinions on your character. It comes with the job.
"You become a target in bars. I stayed away from pubs during the World Cup. I thought if England lose it would become my fault."
