In the funeral scenes to air on 'EastEnders' next week, the religious fanatic, played by Don Gilet, begins the service at the community centre but soon falters as he talks about the wife he attacked.
But gaining his composure, he manages to pull it together and asks the congregation to pray with him.
With Denise's children Libby (Belinda Owusu) and Chelsea (Tiana Benjamin) in a state, Patrick (Rudolph Walker) stands in to deliver a moving eulogy.
And as emotions run high, the sisters start to question whether they ever really knew their mother at all and what happened to her.
Denise was strangled by Lucas after infuriating him by refusing to succumb to his extreme views.
