'Coronation Street' star Kym Marsh has said details of the soap's upcoming tram crash storyline are such a closely guarded secret that even the actors do not know what will happen to their characters.

Warning: spoiler!

During an interview on ITV's 'This Morning' last week the show's executive producer, Phil Collinson, said the tram crash was one of the major 50th anniversary storylines for the soap and viewers would see a number of fatalities.

In her new! magazine column, Marsh wrote: "In December, the viaduct collapses and a tram crashes on the cobbles.

"It's the first time since I joined the show that a plot has been kept totally under wraps.

"By keeping it so secret, the chances of it leaking out are slim, making it all the more exciting."
