Actress Lindsay Lohan will have to remain sober for the next 12 months in addition to her 90-day jail sentence and three months in an inpatient rehab facility.

People reports that Lohan will be randomly tested for drugs and alcohol until August 2011 according to a sentencing order which was released yesterday. Superior Court Judge Marsha N Revel delivered her sentence on Tuesday after Lohan violated her probation in a Driving under the Influence (DUI) and drugs case.

The order says Lohan will serve her time in the Los Angeles County jail which, according to People, probably means she will be going to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California. She may not serve the full 90 days if she gets early release for good behaviour.

Meanwhile Lohan has explained that an explicit message written on her fingernails during her sentencing was a joke and was not directed at the judge.

She tweeted to a friend on Wednesday "Didn't we do our nails as a joke with our friend?" adding "It had nothing to do w/court.. it's an airbrush design from a stencil."
