The star of the hit US drama 'The Wire', Dominic West, married his long-term partner, Catherine Fitzgerald at Glin Castle this weekend.
The Daily Mail reports that a number of West’s co-stars from the HBO series attended the ceremony which took place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on the ground of the castle.
Catherine is the daughter of Desmond Fitzgerald, who is the 29th Knight of Glin. The couple met while studying at Trinity College in Dublin.
Co-stars Wendell Pierce (Detective William 'Bunk' Moreland), Andre Royo (Reginald 'Bubbles' Cousins) and Sonja Sohn (Detective Shakima 'Kima' Greggs) all attended the wedding.
West and Fitgerald have three children – three-year-old Dora, two-yea-old Senan and one-year-old Francis.
Speaking to The Herald, West recalled how they were in a relationship from 1991 – 1994 before Catherine ended it. He said "She dumped me. I was either too immature or too stupid to make our relationship work. She just told me, ‘We are not right for each other.'"
"I was devastated, but being a bloke I pretended that I wasn't hurt. I was, of course. She then married somebody else, which was really hard to take."
Catherine separated from her first husband in 2002.
