Cheryl Cole was reportedly upset when her fellow 'X Factor' judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh questioned her talent at the London auditions for the show this week.

According to the Daily Star, Cowell insulted Cole after watching a girl group audition with an Alicia Keys track.

The music mogul asked the group if they wanted "to be like Destiny's Child or one of those girl groups from America".

The group said that they would love to be like Girls Aloud, with Cowell replying: "Yes, but that's hardly the same in terms of talent, is it?"

Meanwhile, Walsh commented on Cole's solo career after listening to a Romanian model perform the singer's hit single 'Fight For This Love' badly.

He said: "You sing it as well as Cheryl does."

A source said of Cole's reaction to the comments: "Their nasty comments really hit a nerve with her."

"She's never been fully confident about her singing ability, especially since launching her solo career and not having the other girls on stage."

"To be humiliated in front of thousands of people by Simon and Louis was really a step too far."
