Details have emerged of the character 'Ugly Betty' star Vanessa Williams will play in the new series of 'Desperate Housewives'.

TVGuide.com's William Keck exclusively reports that Williams will play Renee Filmore-Jones, an old college rival of Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman).
He says the character has "been married for years to a handsome, hunky man (likely an athlete) named Keith Jones" but now wants more out of life.
Keck adds that the character also has a secret.
