Actress Leigh Arnold has spoken out for the first time about her alleged falling out with Virginia Macari during TV3's 'Celebrity Salon'.

The pair were seen having their much-publicised heated run-in during last night’s instalment of the show.

It saw former 'Podge And Rodge' presenter Virginia, labelling some previous comments made by former ‘Clinic’ actress Leigh as "bitchy", with Arnold reportedly left in tears after the spat.

And a backstage source has revealed to the Herald how things erupted between the pair over newspaper reports from a year ago that followed Virginia replacing Leigh in a movie.

Arnold was originally cast in an independent Paolo Borza movie called 'Doll', before the designer took the role in the flick made last June.

Things kicked off between the pair while the six celebs relaxed with a few drinks in their Sandymount pad.

"Breffny Morgan asked Leigh if being an actress makes you a good liar, to which Leigh replied "I've literally been acting since I could speak'," said an insider.

She then turns to Virginia and says "Virginia, you're an actress, you know what I'm talking about" and she retorts "that's not what you said in the newspaper about me".

When 'Big Brother' winner Brian Dowling pushed Virgina for more details, she responded, "It was a film that I did last June and they interviewed you and they asked you about me getting the part in the film and your comment was, why is she acting, I thought she was in a different field, I thought she was a fashion designer."

Macari then adds: "I thought it was really bitchy."

However, when contacted by the Herald about the incident, the former 'Clinic' actress Leigh played it down and said it was a "silly storm in a teacup".
