Cheryl Cole was reportedly "in tears" after finding out her estranged husband Ashley Cole has a new girlfriend.
MTV news reports that the footballer has reportedly started a relationship with a Cheryl look-a-like, lap dancer Sarah Purnell, who he has been dating for a month.
A source told new! magazine: "Cheryl was gutted when she found out that he’s got a new girlfriend, she’s still in love with Ashley and is desperately missing him. Finding out that he was seeing someone else made her realise how much she still feels for him."
They continued: "She’s been so miserable and was in tears backstage at last week’s 'X Factor' auditions."
Cheryl is said to have gone against her word of never speaking to Ashley again by texting him a good luck message before he left with the England team for the World Cup in South Africa.
The Girls Aloud star's mum, Joan Callaghan is also said to be worried after the singer's weight has dropped due to her loss of appetite since announcing her divorce to Ashley.
Reports have also claimed that Ashley is trying to make Cheryl jealous after her dancer pal Derek Hough stayed three nights at their home in Surrey.
A source close to the footballer told new!: "When he found out Derek stayed at the home he shared with Cheryl, he went ballistic. He is still in love with Cheryl so he hates the thought of her being with someone else."
