Boy band Connected and dancing dog act Tina and Chandi were last night named as the second two acts to go through to this year's 'Britain's Got Talent' final.

The dancing rescue dog Chandi secured an automatic finalists' place after scoring the highest number of viewers' votes among the eight acts performing in the second live semi-final.

Judges Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell then selected Connected over fellow runner-up Frank Sinatra impersonator Neil Fullard to take the second final spot.

Each night this week, the forty semi-finalists are being whittled down in live shows until the remaining 10 battle it out in Saturday's final for a chance to appear at the Royal Variety Performance.

Chandi and Tina won over the judges with their dance routine. The 12-year-old dog who was wearing a fuchsia neck scarf to match her owner's waistcoat, performed a choreographed dance combining side steps, twirls and kicks. It ended with the dog on her hind legs holding an umbrella.

Morgan said: "I was seeing great footwork, amazing balance, incredible natural talent and I was thinking that Chandi is the canine version of Wayne Rooney.

"I think, just like Wayne Rooney, Chandi has a very big chance of winning a very big competition."

Holden added: "I could feel myself welling up because of the affection between you. She is a natural showbiz dog."

Cowell, who had never seen the dog dance duo before, said she was fantastic. "I love her," he said. "She's adorable."
