The actress who plays killer Tracy Barlow in 'Coronation Street' has said the character will be "worse and nastier" than ever before when she returns to the soap next month.
Warning: spoiler alert!
Tracy, played by Kate Ford, is in prison for the killing of her boyfriend Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward), and is granted day release to attend the funeral of her grandmother Blanche Hunt (the late Maggie Jones).
Ford told the Press Association: "She's got worse, nastier, if that's possible. If you're surrounded with people who are similar to you, you have to toughen up and Tracy's not really a tough person. She's manipulative and a bit messed up but not a fighter. It's made her a bit more cagey and bitter."
When she returns to prison, Tracy starts scheming on a new plan involving Gail McIntyre (Helen Worth), who is awaiting trial for the murder of her husband Joe (Reece Dinsdale).
Ford, who is back on the show after becoming a mother, said of her return: "I love it more than I expected to, which sounds weird because I didn't not expect to love it, but it felt fresh. It just felt like a new job in a way."
'Coronation Street' fans can see Tracy's return to the soap on 7 May.
